If you’re from a Korean church then you’ll know that a typical church winter retreat will always either be at Big Bear or Mammoth Mountain. There’s not really much to do but stay in the cabin and do nothing. So for this past winter retreat, I wanted to go somewhere new and different. I was sick of going to the usual place doing nothing. So back in October 2018, I suggested to my pastor and his wife that we should go to Yosemite for winter retreat. I thought it would be great to try going to another national park since my church went to Zion National Park two summers ago.
My second day of Portland came around but things didn’t go according to plan.
For my Portland trip, I continually planned and researched like crazy to get ready for the trip. I had so many tabs open on my computer trying to find the best places to eat and the best places to visit. I had an elaborate schedule of where I was going to go each day. But for my first day, man, I didn’t know it was going to be so tiring. Oh my goodness… On my first day of Portland, I was running on 4 hours of sleep. I felt like dying the whole day. I was constantly walking and at some point, I felt like a zombie. HOWEVER that didn’t stop me from enjoying my first day at Portland. There was a lot of walking and eating involved but I am able to say confidently that my first day was a success.
Before I tell you guys about my adventure in Portland, I thought it would be a good idea to let you guys know where I lodged and how I got around in Portland. I think it would be valuable information for those who plan on visiting Portland.
Happy Halloween guys! Hope you guys will have a great night either trick or treating or having a lit Halloween party (insert fire emoticon here LOL). To be honest though, I’m not really a fan of Halloween. The last time I trick or treated was back when I was 6 years old. After some incident, I never went trick or treating again. Also I’m not a huge fan of chocolates and candies. I mean I do eat them occasionally but I realized I’m not into sweets. But even though I’m not into the Halloween spirit, there’s one thing I look forward to every year and that is pumpkin carving.
Hey guys, I have some pretty exciting news to share! I will be going on my first solo female trip to Portland tomorrow! Few weeks ago, I spontaneously bought a plane ticket to Portland as I was wanderlusting over it. Now that I have the time to travel and take a break, I decided this is the perfect opportunity to go to Hipster Utopia. I’ve actually been to Portland three years back for a school field trip but I was very limited on where I was able to go. Multnomah Falls was first on to go list but unfortunately, time was very limited and I wasn’t able to go.
But since I have all the time now, I’m able to go anywhere I want! I will also be visiting other places I’ve been wanting to go such as the Japanese Garden and the International Rose Test Garden… well, the latter is a maybe since it’s Fall. But I’m looking forward to beautiful deep red and orange leaves lining up the sidewalk. I don’t know why Portland has always been in my heart. Maybe it’s because I visited there once and it wasn’t California so maybe that’s why I like it. But I’m excited to share you guys photos of my trips and the awesome foods I will try over there. This will be my first ever travel alone and I’m happy that I’ll be able to fill my blog with real travel. Pray for me that I’ll have safe travel and I hope you guys are looking forward to my adventure too!
Few Saturdays ago, I had a Girls Day Out (GDO) with my church friends and we went to The Broad museum. It’s been a very long time since we all hung out together on a Saturday. We always hung out on Sundays after church but we never went to fun places such as The Broad. For me, I’ve actually been there three times now but since some of my friends never went to the place, I thought it would be great to check out The Broad.
