Night Full of Jack O’ Lanterns: Pumpkin Nights LA

Night Full of Jack O’ Lanterns: Pumpkin Nights LA

Happy Halloween guys! Hope you guys will have a great night either trick or treating or having a lit Halloween party (insert fire emoticon here LOL). To be honest though, I’m not really a fan of Halloween. The last time I trick or treated was back when I was 6 years old. After some incident, I never went trick or treating again. Also I’m not a huge fan of chocolates and candies. I mean I do eat them occasionally but I realized I’m not into sweets. But even though I’m not into the Halloween spirit, there’s one thing I look forward to every year and that is pumpkin carving.

My First Solo Female Travel

My First Solo Female Travel

Hey guys, I have some pretty exciting news to share! I will be going on my first solo female trip to Portland tomorrow! Few weeks ago, I spontaneously bought a plane ticket to Portland as I was wanderlusting over it. Now that I have the time to travel and take a break, I decided this is the perfect opportunity to go to Hipster Utopia. I’ve actually been to Portland three years back for a school field trip but I was very limited on where I was able to go. Multnomah Falls was first on to go list but unfortunately, time was very limited and I wasn’t able to go.

But since I have all the time now, I’m able to go anywhere I want! I will also be visiting other places I’ve been wanting to go such as the Japanese Garden and the International Rose Test Garden… well, the latter is a maybe since it’s Fall. But I’m looking forward to beautiful deep red and orange leaves lining up the sidewalk. I don’t know why Portland has always been in my heart. Maybe it’s because I visited there once and it wasn’t California so maybe that’s why I like it. But I’m excited to share you guys photos of my trips and the awesome foods I will try over there. This will be my first ever travel alone and I’m happy that I’ll be able to fill my blog with real travel. Pray for me that I’ll have safe travel and I hope you guys are looking forward to my adventure too!

Girls Day Out: The Broad, The Last Bookstore, and More

Girls Day Out: The Broad, The Last Bookstore, and More

Few Saturdays ago, I had a Girls Day Out (GDO) with my church friends and we went to The Broad museum. It’s been a very long time since we all hung out together on a Saturday. We always hung out on Sundays after church but we never went to fun places such as The Broad. For me, I’ve actually been there three times now but since some of my friends never went to the place, I thought it would be great to check out The Broad.

Hype or Nope #1: Rose City Pizza

Hype or Nope #1: Rose City Pizza

Hey guys! Welcome to my new series called “Hype or Nope” where I travel in my poor abused but trusty Civic and try foods from restaurants that the internet goes crazy for and see if they really are worth the hype or not. For my first hype or nope, I went to Rose City Pizza which is known for their weird but innovative pizza. I first came across Rose City Pizza on Facebook and as soon as I saw the juicy al pastor, I was hooked. I mean look at that al pastor, doesn’t it make your mouth water? If it doesn’t then you need to get yourself checked LOL. Not only do they have al pastor pizza, they also have elote pizza LIKE WHAAAT. My good friend, Her Memoirs, tried the elote pizza and she said that I’ll love it. And I trust her recommendations about 80% of the time (don’t kill me if you’re reading this LOL) so when an opportunity arose for me to go to Rose City Pizza, I immediately took it.

The Best Gift Shop in LA: Wacko Soap Plant

The Best Gift Shop in LA: Wacko Soap Plant

If you’re ever in the LA area and you’re wondering where to get gifts for your friends, I highly recommend checking out Wacko Soap Plant in Los Feliz. It’s hands down the best place to get the most fun and random gifts. They have a huge selection of fun socks, small figurines, funny cards, and more. Even if you’re dead set on not buying anything, I guarantee you that you’ll be walking out of the door with their item in your hand.

I Feel Like…

I Feel Like…

A loser. A loser who has no idea what she wants to do in her life and is completely lost in a world where success and achievement is measured by how much money you make or if you settled down with “the one”. Unfortunately, I don’t have either so it’s really hard for me not to compare myself with those who have a steady job or those who have someone to lean on during hard times.

Intestines, The Best Part of The Cow: Song Hak

Intestines, The Best Part of The Cow: Song Hak

Every time I browse on Facebook at night, I come across photos or videos of Daechang (beef big intestines) sizzling on the grill. My stomach starts to growl uncontrollably and my pillow starts to get drenched with drool as I watch the meat cook and ooze with oil. Daechang is my second favorite part of the cow, after chadol, and I always crave it. I dream of jumping into a pool of daechang and eating my way through. My cravings only intensified when I watched one of my favorite Kpop singer, Hwasa, eating gopchang (beef small intestines) in the “I Live Alone” show. After her appearance in the show, everyone flocked to the closest gopchang restaurants they could find and started a gopchang movement. Gopchang was sold out all over South Korea. Not only did she have an effect in Korea, the movement also travelled to SoCal. I went on a hunt to find a gopchang store near me but the closest one I was able to find was Ahgassi Gopchang which is located in Koreatown, Los Angeles. I wanted to find somewhere closer in OC and after many attempts, I failed to find one. Dejected, I crawled back into my bed and went back to Facebook to look longingly at the beautiful daechangs. However, a week later, I saw on my friend’s Instagram Story of gopchangs and I immediately DM’ed her asking where she was. She was at Haksan (now known as Song Hak) and it was located in Cerritos. I immediately made a decision to go and on that same week, I dragged that same friend to Song Hak.
